We are excited to welcome Nana Asaase, a Ghanaian Poet, Cultural Practitioner and Storyteller, as guest for the conversation “Narratives in Transition: Linguistics, Poetry, and the Reimagination of Ghanaian Expression,” designed as part of the New Voices Poetry exhibition.

His practice, rooted in a blend of English and Twi, draws deeply from Akan oratory and folklore, and extends into performance, coaching, and cultural consultancy. Over the past 23 years, Nana has shared his art with audiences from presidents and global dignitaries to cultural enthusiasts worldwide, with features on platforms including BBC and CNN’s African Voices.

We look forward to sharing with him how poetry and orality continue to evolve in our times, and how language remains a vital tool for memory, identity, and imagination.

This conversation is supported by Books With Abena in partnership with e-Ananse Library, New Voices Poetry and Creatives Ghana Project.
